Who we are

Atlas by Covr is a Shopify app that texts a store’s shoppers about the checkouts they left, answers their replies, and hands a conversation to the store’s team when a person is needed. It is operated by Pay Tech Payments LLC, 303 South Water Street, Ste 200, Henderson, NV 89015.

Merchants are the stores that use Atlas. Shoppers are their customers. We work for the merchant: we handle its shoppers’ information only to run Atlas for that store.

What we keep about shoppers

• A checkout we texted about: the phone number, first name, the products and value of the cart, whether the shopper has ordered from the store before, when we texted, and whether they replied.
• The conversation: the texts sent and received, so it can continue and so the store can read it.
• Stop requests: a number that replied STOP, so it is never texted again from that store.
• Orders the texts brought back: the order number and amount, and any refund or cancellation, so the store sees its results and is billed correctly.

What we read but do not keep

• Whether the shopper subscribed to the store's text marketing in Shopify, to decide whether we may text them.
• The state in the checkout's address, to follow the store's shipping rules.
• The shopper's own orders at that store, found by the number they text from, when they ask about an order: items, status and tracking.
• The store's products, to answer questions about them.

We never read shoppers’ email addresses.

When we text

• By default we text only shoppers who subscribed to the store's text marketing in Shopify, on that same number. A store can also choose to text numbers shoppers left at checkout; that store is responsible for having their consent.
• At most three texts about a checkout, within about two days of it, and one set of texts per shopper per week. Never at night where the shopper lives.
• Texts come from a number Covr runs for that store. Reply STOP to any text and that store will not text you again.
• Replies may be written by an AI assistant following the store's instructions, and any conversation can be handed to a person at the store.

What we never do

• We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
• We do not use one store's information for another store.
• Mobile numbers and texting consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or lead generators for marketing or promotional purposes.

Who else sees it

• The store. A store sees its own conversations and results, and nothing about any other store.
• Service providers that run Atlas, each given only what its part needs and bound to use it for nothing else: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Sendblue (delivers the texts) and Anthropic (the AI that drafts replies). All are in the United States.
• Anyone the law requires us to tell.

How long we keep it

• Everything is kept while the store uses Atlas. When a store uninstalls and Shopify asks us to erase its data, 48 hours later, we delete its conversations and checkouts automatically.
• When a shopper's erasure request reaches us through Shopify, we delete their checkouts and conversations automatically.
• Order numbers and amounts are kept for the store's billing records until the store's data is erased.
• A request to stop texting is kept permanently, on purpose: forgetting it would let texting start again.

Your choices

• Stop texts: reply STOP to any message.
• Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it: write to support@covrprotection.com. We answer within 30 days, including requests that reach us through Shopify.
• Ask the store. It controls how it uses Atlas and can often answer faster.

Security

Every connection is encrypted, and the database and its backups are encrypted at rest. Only the people who run Atlas can reach production data. Stores’ Shopify access keys are encrypted again with a key held only in our production environment.

Children

Atlas by Covr is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes and contact
